I'm so excited now...I be able to watch Diru's concert again in Japan and this time it's at NIPPON BUDOKAN.I've heard that the last show they did there and the tickets were sold out in few hours and this time it was no exception. It was open for sale on 31 October 2009 and was sold out by 4pm. I was shocked and devastated as I did'nt get the tickets. What shall I do? I paid for my air ticket 2 days before and if I couldn't watch them in action, what's the point of going there. So this is where my friend came in or I could call him my agent...haha...He said he could help me get the tickets through auction but it's going to cost me...
Last year when I was trying to get the tickets for their show on New Year's Eve it costs me S$300++ for a ticket...so I was quite worried it's going to cost more than that but I gave my agent the green light to go ahead and keep my fingers crossed hoping for the best. I kept my eyes glued on the auction site for days and when we won the first day concert tickets (original price) I was delighted. Now the next battle begins for the 2nd day concert tickets. I always make it a point to go for at least 2 days as you all know the air ticket isn't cheap so better make full use of it.I have to wait for a few days again before I won the tickets at original price. How lucky am I!!!!This is FATE!!!
I'll be going in January 8 2010 as their concert is on 9&10 January 2010. I am sure to write about it in my blog after that trip. As why I didn't talk about my trip to Osaka Jo Hall and Namba Hatch in December 2008 as I have quite unpleasant trip. I will write about it the next time and also will load some photos when I was there (Osaka Jo Hall & Namba). Until then I'm keeping my spirits up for this coming trip. Ja ne....

Worth the price
Finally, I could spare a little time to write today as I have been busy so here it goes... I don't know if I could be called a die-hard fan but for someone who stayed so far from Japan I tried to make the trip once a year to see their concert and everyone has been calling me crazy as to spend money just to see them once a year. I usually stayed about 2 weeks and spent SGD3000 for each trip. At first I think I'm kind of stupid but once you entered the concert hall, you heard the music being played, one by one the members entered the stage all the money is well spent I said.
For a concert hall in Shibuya-AX which can filled 1500 people (estimated) it felt like more than that number of people are watching the concert. Japanese fans are very spontaneous, they are able to follow the rhythm with their hand gestures and it was just awesome. I can't say much for Singaporeans though I am one, they are too uptight, rigid and unable to release themselves to be one with the music. I love it when the fans just know when to shout their song's chorus and when to be silent. All of us regardless of nationality just became one...we became Direngrey die-hard fans.
I brought my sister along for the first trip and though she knew nothing about the band, she fell in love with Kyo's voice and their music. Yes...Kyo's voice and Direngrey's music are able to reach her and she felt so touched with one song that he sang on that day (Conceived Sorrow) with tears flowing from her eyes. It was really undescribable, the emotion that both of us felt at the concert hall.
I also experienced for the first time when all of the fans shouted for an "Encore" for the band to come back on stage to perform last songs. Everyone in a united voice shouted "Encore" with a Japanese accent for about 5 minutes and yes our favourite band is out again on the stage to perform their last songs. After watching their concerts for a few times I noticed that how many last songs they (Direngrey) are going to perform will depend on their (fans) united voice calling for encore. It's like the more united the voice is the more energy they have to perform more last songs.
The first day that I went they started with 3 songs and we shouted for them again and they came out to perform another 3 songs. But for the second day they performed 6 songs straight without rest. But without fail they will choose "The IIID Empire" as their closing song. When the music being played at the beginning of the song everyone started to jump nonstop, shout a certain chorus until the end of the song. When the song ends everyone's fulfilled even when our whole body filled with sweat, legs cramped from the jumping, the concert is worth the money. Then I decided that this won't be my last trip to watch them, this is the beginning.

Kyo (Singer)
For now I'm going to talk about KYO for a little. Well for a start his real name is NISHIMURA TOORU (totally different from his stage name) and he's born on 16 February 1974 at Kyoto. He likes video games (well, who doesn't) and collect little figurines. Sleep is very precious to him so he sleeps a lot once he got the chance to (even during interviews) cause he doesn't understand other languages besides NIHONGO. He is demanding on stage and always gives his best. I find that he's very good at entertaining crowds making fans go crazy shouting wanting for more songs to be performed. Trust me, even if you go for their 3 nights concert in a row it's not going to be enough. He sounded different when performing "LIVE" and his voice is amazing. Though I keep listening/watching his LIVE concert DVD, it's different totally awesome perfomance everytime. He always did self-mutilation during late 2006 til mid 2008 (mostly with foreign fans) but I didn't get to see it in Japan though. Maybe it's his own way of connecting/communicating with his foreign fans as they (fans) don't understand what he is shouting in Japanese. So all he could do is that (self mutilation) and saying F**K all the time to get their response. Anyway this is only my congesture. He is closest to drummer SHINYA. He smokes...mmm well he loves and hates women at the same time. Strange...I can't get into this kind of thoughts. He loves to complain but it is just his way of expressing himself.
In SHIBUYA, I went for his concert (during GLASS SKIN SINGLE) release...Japanese people are so nice though you see them wearing gothic make-up, purple hair, weird clothing. Once they open their mouth to speak it is very polite...that's my first experience in TOKYO, SHIBUYA-AX. For those who wants to go to Japan to experience the LIVE performance I suggest you better learn some Japanese counters as they (Staffs)going to call out the numbers for your ticket in Japanese. It's fun though...mmm if you guys want to join their fanclub in Japan, I can recommend someone. I have joined them for 2 years now...you can also buy their limited edition items...These are the photos at SHIBUYA-AX.

Before I write anything about them this is my favourite song from their new album Uroboros released last year. I was there for the concert so enjoy this song Gaika, Chinmoku Ga Nemuru Koro...
Though I like other JRock bands like Despair's Ray, The Gazzette etc but Dir En Grey music is easy on the ears to listen though they have their fast pace songs like Bugaboo, The IIID Empire even Grief for some listeners is too heavy for their ears but because of the guitar melody it is just so nice to hear....I don't want to name other bands but when they have this fast pace songs it just ends up a mess I can't even hear anything it's just noise...

What I want to write here is about my life and my 1st ever journey out of my country to somewhere I don't even think I'm able to 10 years ago. I'm the kind of person who don't talk much or I can say I hate to open my mouth even to say the word 'Thank you' and 'Sorry'. It is so heavy especially if you meet someone for the first time and had nothing to say. NO TOPIC and people will find me boring but luckily I still had some close friends that I still keep in contact with and they don't find me boring but funny.Frankly when people said that travelling really broaden your knowledge and way of thinking, I didn't think much of it 10 years ago but 10 years later yes I believed it as I have experienced it and I have only been to 2 cities in that country. Which country am I talking about here??? Of course it's Japan!!! Whoooh...I love it there... How did it all start? Let me tell you...

Starts out late in everything in life...When others are way far ahead only then I realised that I missed out on lots of things but I believed it is not too late to start now though including this blog. There's no age limit for learning, travelling and especially in what type of music one is listening so here I am typing to share about what I have experienced while travelling chasing after my favourite band....DIRENGREY.
